Mastotreet

(Mastitis)

Description

Mastotreet is a unique paste which can be used after each milking. The paste has a 25% essential oil content, a large proportion of which is Tea Tree Oil together with other synergis- tic agents. Studies shows that Tea Tree Oil at a concentration of only 2.5%, a small fraction of that contained in Mastotreet, can reduce a bacterial count from 100,000,000 and to 1000 in minutes.

Mastotreet possesses powerfully antibacterial, anti-fungal and cleansing activity. Masto-treet also has tissue softening and insect repellent action. Mastotreet works by ensuring that the Tea-Tree Oil is delivered where its effect is needed. It contains no harmful additives. Due to its natural essential oil content Mastotreet has a numbing and relaxing effect, soothing the udder. The warming and relaxing effect of the essential oils cleanses the fine vessels (capillaries) and stimulates the elimination of harmful waste products and bacteria.

How It Works

The special processing method of Mastotreet is critical to its efficacy, the essential oils are 'bonded' to the carrier base through a temperature regulated process. This method is based on many years of experience in the production of veterinary pastes. The special composition of the base and the synergistic nature of the ingredients allows maximum performance of the product.

In Use

  • Mastotreet should be applied into the udder immediately when the first symptoms occur (changed appearance of the milk and udder).

  • The teat and udder should be thoroughly cleaned prior to application. Mastotreet can be applied after each milking for up to 5 milkings.

  • If there is any deterioration in the status of the cow at any point antibiotic therapy should be immediately instigated.

  • With Mastotreet, unlike antibiotic therapy, there is no withdrawal period. However, it should be ensured that prior to the next milking, any Mastotreet residue is thoroughly removed from the teat and discarded.
